The New Game of Wishful Thinking

Lifesize interactive gameboard
327' x 24' concrete platform, embedded glazed porcelain tiles, colored concrete, stamped white cement, sanded grout
This project is a complete redesign of the original artwork, The Game of Wishful Thinking, which was installed in 1987. Structural changes and modifications by Regional Transit to the existing platform and badly needed renovations to the existing artwork, required redesign of the artwork which included new and different materials but keeping the original game concept intact. The project began in 2006 and was completed in early 2009. A description of the concept and Rules of the Game can be found here The Game of Wishful Thinking©
Special Thanks to:
David Solomon, Eduardo Orozco from RT, my contractor Michael Cooley: Installation crew: Mike Cooley, Joan Zalenski, Barbara, Derek, and Fred
Fabrication of tiles: McIntyre Tile, Healdsburg, CA
In memoriam to my friend, Michael Cooley 1953-2010
